A bit about me
I believe in the power of music and comedy to heal us to create change and awaken consciousness. I was lucky to grow up at a time in the 70s and 80s when music played everywhere and new kinds and genres were just coming about. I listened to jazz and fell in love with it with Sarah Vaughans style and sound. I listened to R&B to soft rock to pop to British Invasion as we called it to Reggae Gospel Soul singer/songwriter folk rap world beat and loved it all. I lived in NYC as a young woman and would go see a dj with a tabla player or a band that was so eclectic defying all genres. My mind was conatantly being blown. Music cared for me comforted me and got me thru the really hard stuff i experienced in my young life. Comedy and laughter was also a lifesaver for me. Again the time I grew up was filled with incredible comedic movies and the best standup comedy. I was deeply inspired by all I heard and saw and began writing songs at a young age. Its like the arts raised me the music the movies the comedy it taught me things and I became me. A mix of it all coming back out in my own authentic way.
